Trump Memecoin Dinner: No $300K Requirement, But KYC & Time-Weighted Holdings Rule
The Official Trump (TRUMP) memecoin team has refuted rumors circulating on social media regarding a $300,000 requirement for holders to attend an upcoming dinner event with former US President Donald Trump. On April 25th, the official X account of the Trump memecoin clarified that there is no such financial threshold to participate in the dinner.
The rumor originated from community members pointing to the Solana blockchain explorer, which displays token holdings at a specific contract address. The explorer showed that the 220th-largest holder possesses over 33,000 TRUMP tokens, currently valued at over $400,000. However, the memecoin team explained that the explorer data doesn’t represent their actual selection criteria.
“People have been incorrectly quoting #220 on the block explorer as the cutoff. That’s wrong because it includes things like locked tokens, exchanges, market makers, and those who are not participating. Instead, you should only be going off the leaderboard,”
The Trump Coin team unveiled a leaderboard on April 23rd, showcasing the wallet addresses of top contenders for the dinner event. The final guest list is yet to be finalized, but the team stated that any token holder seeking eligibility must undergo a thorough background check. In addition, their wallets will be subject to Know Your Customer (KYC) and compliance measures.

Time-Weighted Holdings and Selection Process
According to the memecoin’s official website, the team will select winners based on time-weighted holdings. This metric calculates the amount of tokens held and the duration of their holding period. “The longer you hold, the higher your weighted score becomes,” the team explained.
The current leaderboard reveals that the top holder possesses over 1.1 million tokens, valued at $14.6 million, but only has a time-weighted score exceeding 686,000. Conversely, the 220th wallet holder owns 1,125 TRUMP tokens, valued at nearly $15,000, with a score of 136. Interestingly, the leaderboard also includes addresses with zero current TRUMP holdings, likely due to their past token holding duration.
This emphasis on time-weighted holdings highlights the memecoin team’s focus on rewarding long-term commitment and engagement within the community, rather than simply having a substantial token balance.
